HP Officejet D145/ D155
The cartridges for the HP D Series should be refilled only when they have completely run out of ink. When the black or color "Ink Out' message appears for the first time on the printer's LCD monitor, 1/3 of the cartridge is still filled with ink.
If you refill cartridges when the initial message appears you will have to take additional care in refilling the cartridge to prevent ink from overflowing from the cartridge. (You will not need to refill the print head. It should have enough ink.)
Whether you refill the cartridge when the initial message appears or afterwards, you will still need to override the ink level gauge to continue printing after you have received the error message.
We recommend refilling the cartridge only when the print quality begins to deteriorate and the cartridge is actually out of ink. After refilling the cartridge fully you will need to set up the ink level gauge override as described below.
Note: Printer cartridges must be installed before performing an Ink Level Gauge Override.
